STUDIO 5K MATCH FUND!!! URGENT!!
When: Tue, Dec 1 @ 5:00 pm
[ Posted September 22, 2009 - 1:46 pm ]
URGENT FUNDRAISING NEEDED FOR STUDIO IN THEATRE DEPARTMENT!!!
EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS!!
The Department of Theatre and Film Studies desperately needs a Studio Space for their classes that involve Acting on Camera, Motion Capture, and Digital Media. The Parents and Families Association at UGA has graciously given us a grant and a Fundraising Challenge. They have already awarded us $5,000--- but if we can raise another 5K by December 1, they will match that 5K to give us a total of $15,000!! This will go a long way in creating a small studio setup in the newly renovated Arena Theatre. Our plan is to have three cameras, a switcher system, lights, microphones, and editing/recording capabilities.
WE NEED YOUR HELP TODAY!!
If each of our 200 majors got 25 of their friends to donate just $1 we’d have the 5K we need. BUT WE HAVE TO DO IT NOW!!!
If we don’ t make the $5,000 by December 1 we lose this chance.
Thalian-Blackfriars, the student theatre organization is spearheading a Facebook and Twitter campaign to help raise this money. Get the word out!
Ask 25 of your friends to donate just $1!
Or , if someone wishes to donate $25 or more they will have their name listed on a Donor Honor Roll in the Arena Theatre.
HOW TO DONATE
Remember every $1 counts because, in the end, it will be matched and actually equal $2.
1. You can drop a check (made out to the Arch Foundation with "Theatre & Film Studies Studio 5K" in the memo line) or cash off to Steven Carroll in the main office, or mail it to: UGA Dept of Theatre and Film Studies, Fine Arts Bldg, UGA, Athens, GA 30602, Attn: Steven Carroll, Business Manager.
2. You can "Make a Gift" on the drama.uga.edu website. For "Select Department," choose "drama/Theatre & Film Studies," and for "Account" choose "Theatre and Film Studies Fund." Then select your amount and click "submit," and on the next screen enter "Studio 5 K Fund" in the "Comments/Special Instructions" field.
Remember all donations are tax deductible.
The creation of this studio space is crucial to our department meeting the needs of our students as they will have a space to advance their understanding of acting and technology. Please help .
Thank You
