Directing and Stage Management Area of Emphasis

Students pursuing this area of emphasis take the required courses for theatre majors plus 19 hours in place of the 15 hours of major electives:

Required:

THEA 5600   Play Direction  OR  THEA 5110 Stage Management (take the course you have not already taken for the major requirement)

THEA 5080    Production Practicum (3 hours minimum credit) for assignment as AD, SM or ASM on a mainstage UGA Theatre production.  (Course repeatable for 1-6 hours, only need 3 hours to meet the requirement).

  • FILM 4680    Introduction to DV Production (prereq. FILM 2120)
  • FILM 5640    Directing for the Cinema (prereq. FILM 4680

 

Elective: Choose one three-hour FILM or THEA course numbered 3000-5999 
Capstone (1 hour): THEA 4960, 4960R, or 5053   

Direction or Stage Management of a Showcase project (or CURO project) which has an advisor in the Department of Theatre and Film Studies.
