Raife Baker

Originally from the great state of Georgia, Raife trained actors at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts for twelve years (2012-2024) in the New Studio on Broadway. He was also the Head of Voice and Speech at Molloy University CAP21 from 2017-2024.  Specializing in voice, speech, and dialects, Raife also served as instructor at Maggie Flanigan Studio, Lee Strasberg Studio, and New York Academy of Dramatic Art. 

As a voice and dialect coach, Raife has worked on many stage productions including Young Charles Dickens (world premiere) with New York Children’s Theater.  He has coached actors in television shows such as Queen Sugar, Fear the Walking Dead, Mindhunter, and Daredevil, and NCIS: New Orleans. 

As an actor, Raife Baker has appeared on stages regionally and off-Broadway.  These include productions at the American Conservatory Theater, California Shakespeare Theater, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, PICT Classic Theatre, 59E59 Theater, Fourth Street Theatre, Urban Stages and many others.

He was co-founder and co-Artistic Director of The Crook Theater Company in New York (2008-2019). His adaptation of Macbeth, which he also directed, received the New York Innovative Theater Award for best play. He has also been nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Stolen Chair’s production of The Man Who Laughs.

He holds a BA in Theater Studies and Philosophy from Emory University and an MFA in Acting from the American Conservatory Theater.
