Image: This past summer, fourteen students - undergraduates, MFA students, and PhD students - made their way to Greece to explore both ancient and modern theatrical venues in a 22-day intensive tour, including the world renowned Athens Epidaurus Festival. Our students experienced international live productions in venues that date back as far as 5th Century BCE. In addition to attending various live productions, they were treated to lectures from notable scholars of ancient Greek theatre practices from Dr. Maria Mikedaki (University of the Peloponnese), Thanos Vovolis (American College of Greece), screenwriter Kallia Papadaki, and playwright Vivan Stergious. Along the way, students visited famed archeological sites in Delos, Delphi, Argos, Mycenae, Corinth, Athens, Sounio, and Santorini (Akrotiri).
