Resources for New Play Development & Literary Management

Ad
Room 115 | Fine Arts Building

This workshop offers an overview of resources for new play development and theatre season planning, with a focus on the New Play Exchange (NPX). This resource for playwrights and other theatre artists, sponsored by the National New Play Network (NNPN), has a searchable database of plays posted by individual playwrights. We will explore such features as search functionality, writing recommendations for plays, and curated lists.

Dr. Daniel Smith is Associate Professor at Michigan State University and, in Spring 2025, Martha Daniel Newell Visiting Scholar at Georgia College and State University. He is a professional dramaturg and a specialist of French-language theatre and theatre translation.

This workshop is sponsored by the Department of Theatre & Film Studies, the Department of Romance Languages, the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts, and the Hugh Hodgson School of Music
